Our Wedding: The Favors Part 2

Today I am sharing Part Two of our wonderful wedding favors! I am so excited because they turned out SO GOOD.
I might be biased but I think our favors can be summed up with every cliché/made up word including AMAZEBALLS & TOTES ADORBS!
{Our fabulous mixer at work. Thank you MIL!}
{The supplies...ingredients below}
{Brian did the measuring and mixing}
{I was in charge of distribution}
So here's the low down...we made something like 280 servings of this hot chocolate because each jar had 4 servings x 70 jars. Two Hundred Eighty!!! I'm glad I'm bad at math and did not realize the quantity we'd be making and how much work this favor was going to take when we first came up with it because I don't know if we would have gone through with it. I am so glad that we did. This is one of my favorite elements of our wedding.

The recipe below makes 8 cups of the mix. The link below the recipe actually calculates any serving size you want which is awesome for making a cup or two or 280 servings. We adapted the original recipe because the amount of powdered milk that the recipe {for 280 servings} called for would have cost something like $250. For powdered milk. No thank you! We also sweetened ours more. Double to be exact.
For 8 cups of mix, the recipe called for 6.5 cups of powdered milk and we used 1 cup. And it called for a 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar and we used a cup. Got it? Good!

{{Kozell Hot Cocoa}}
You will need:
1 cup powdered milk
1 {5oz} package non-instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup powdered chocolate drink mix
1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Mini marshmallows
Pint size mason jars

Combine all ingredients. We filled pint size mason jars with 4 servings of mix {1/3 cup x 4} and filled the rest of the jar with mini marshmallows.
Dissolve 1/3 cup of hot chocolate mix in 1 cup of warmed milk.
The original recipe calls for boiling water. Trust me, we did taste tests and side by side comparisons
to find the right mix
because we love hot chocolate...
Water does not even compare.
That's like eating steak or ahi tuna well-done.
You just don't do it.

To make our favors:
Mason jars filled with hot chocolate mix
Baker's Twine
Round White Printable Sticker {We found at Michael's}

I actually have to give credit to Bri, his mom and his brother, Daniel for putting together the favors. I was busy painting a sign for the wedding. It was so sweet of Daniel to help, he was home from FSU for the weekend after being gone for months. He hung out for a couple of hours and helped with the favors. It's one of my favorite memories of the four of us working on wedding stuff together. Best {youngest} brother ever! I got so lucky in the in-law department. Brian's mom was so helpful and offered her time every step of the way.
We printed the instructions for making the hot chocolate as well as the guest names and table assignment on the stickers. Then just applied them to the lids of the mason jars. Easy peasy!

I hope that our guests enjoyed them as much as we did. And hopefully someone will read this and use it for their wedding or party favor. I find so many creative ideas online. I love to share mine with you.

Thanks for reading. Stay awhile & look around!

  1. I am legit thinking about stealing this idea for my favors. It's kind of perfect and adorable.
