Valentine's 2013

I am happy to have this blog to keep track of all the memories Brian and I are making together. I think we will look back at this Valentine's as one of the funnier ones for gift giving. We've done the flowers and chocolates, balloons and even better, Tiffany's. However, this year I think we should get an award for unique gifts.
{Valentine's 2013}

I split my roses between two large Ball mason jars. {L-O-V-E} Our Husband and Wife cards. It makes me so happy to be able to buy cards that say Husband. {It's the little things that make me happy} Now for the unique gifts...
 I asked B for a gallon of paint...yep, paint. It doesn't get more romantic than that! The same color that we used on the entertainment center that we B built {and I helped!} and the central color in all our wedding DIY projects. {I love this color, to say the least}. More on that later. Since B asks for nothing I had to get creative, on a budget. Mayo & beef jerky chocolate seemed like the logical choice. Ha!
The funny thing about this mayo is that I actually found it on the Harney & Sons website where I buy my tea. Random. I googled it and found an array of unique flavors from bacon, garlic, paprika, etc. Originally, I was going to get Bacon Mayo and a sign that said "I love you more than bacon". How cute, right? Perfect for my bacon lover.
Welp...
The bacon mayo was $9 direct from Empire. {For mayonnaise} Okay, I'll splurge for Valentine's. I go to buy it and find out that shipping was going to be $12!!! More than the product itself which always bothers me and on top of that, it made this mayo purchase TWENTY-ONE DOLLARS. {what?!} No thank you. Funny enough, the White Truffle mayo was cheaper on Harney's website than direct from Empire. {Weird}
The other thing that made me choose the White Truffle was because the suggested way to consume it was a dollop on a steak. It had me at steak! I'll let you know how it is.
So who else got a gallon of paint, mayonnaise and beef jerky chocolate for Valentine's Day?! That's what I thought.
*Unique Gift Award*

So here's what I wanted that paint for...

 I love this color and it really helped to lighten up the room. It looks so good with our cream bedroom set. I really wanted to paint the whole room but as you can sort of see, the other three walls are called "Bonjour Beige" and are like a dark tan. I used to like the color when we first used it in our last apartment like 5 years ago. And when I was trying to compromise with B on a "manly" paint color. We've been in our current place almost 4 years and I'm over Bonjour Beige. LOL So this was B & I's compromise. I could paint the blue wall and we'll live with everything else until we buy a house. We needed to buy a house like, yesterday.
 {It looks really white in these pictures but it's more of an ice blue/aqua. I like that it is neutral and plan to paint our entire house this color one day.}
Our living room has a 20 foot ceiling which is completely white and has been for almost 4 years. If you know me then you know that I'm a colorful person. I like bright colors. I don't like white walls. They drive me crazy. I've had these 3 24 x 30" canvases {canvas'?} for YEARS...like 5 years at least. Just sitting in spare-oom {Narnia, anybody?}. I still have other plans for these things but at this point I am going to use them to add a splash of color to the living room. And the four small ones on the table are going in the kitchen. I told you I love this color! I'm putting it everywhere. {Pictures to come!}

Macaron Prosecco & our Wedding champagne flutes! We never thought we'd get much use out of these and surprisingly this is the third time we've used them in 2 1/2 months. Now we celebrate all the holidays with something bubbly!
