I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine's Day and it has nothing to do with having someone to share it with because I've had an amazing Valentine for the last 7 of them {including this year's}. So when I say love/hate I mean sometimes I'm in the mood to feed into the hype of a "commercial holiday" and sometimes it just stressed me out to have to come up with an EXTRA romantic day for Brian and I. I'm still coming off of the costs of Christmas and then I have Brian's birthday to think about in March. Sometimes, Valentine's Day just takes a back seat. Every day should be a loving and romantic day, right? Yeah, Brian and I are way too tired from work but I would say that every day is loving just not always romantic! LOL
So you may be wondering {or not! LOL} whether I am feeding into the V-day hype this year?! My answer is....sorta! I'll explain through pictures. This is what the Valentine's spirit looks like in the Kozell household:
{{Our "Chalkboard of the Month"}}
I'm feeling a tad sentimental with this being our FIRST married Valentine's. Maybe that's why I'm more in the mood for this holiday this year?! This says it all. {{Tubs Hubs!!}}
{{Our front door}}
This heart wreath is actually store bought. It's made up of felt and wooden hearts and sparkles of course. It was super cheap and I got it a few years back. The awesome part about this little gem is that Brian helped me out with the personalization. To personalize it with my new awesome last name we used the same wood letters that we used for the card box in our wedding. Also, it's my opinion that my aqua and white baker's twine makes everything a little more special. We used it all over our wedding from the invitations, card box, favors, gifts for our family, etc. I just love the way this turned out. It's amazing how something as simple as adding a personalized detail can really spruce up an old decoration.
{{L-O-V-E me some Harney tea!}}
I love trying new tea and themed tea is all the better! If you haven't tried Harney & Sons tea, I highly recommend that you do. It's my drug of choice favorite tea!
So that is how the Kozell household is getting into the Valentine's spirit. I'd love to decorate some more but I honestly don't want to buy decorations that fit our apartment. I'll save my creative juices for our future home. The only problem is I have SO many fun ideas. Unfortunately, I have a bazillion craft projects going on at once. Brian won't let me start new ones until I get the old ones under control. Hello, felt tree skirt kit I bought in 2011...you will be done by December 2013. I just know it!
What about you, do you love V-day or not so much? Are you like Jessica Biel in the movie, Valentine's Day - having an anti v-day party? LOL
