Our Wedding: The Vows

{via}

Hollywood writers actually wrote our wedding vows. For reals!! Ha!

I wanted to personalize our vows but I am not much of a writer so everything I came up with just sounded cliché or silly.

I started looking online but then I thought, "Am I just copying someone else's words or lines from a movie?" but then I realized even if we used traditional vows we'd be copying someone, right? Right!

Have you seen the movie, The Vow?

When I read the vows in The Vow I got chills. They said everything I feel for Brian but in a much more graceful, pretty way. I showed them to Brian and he approved but we wanted to make them our own. We combined most of what the bride and groom said in the movie and added our own special twist.

{{Our vows}}
I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home. I look forward to Indoroni and home made ice cream that I will only share with you, and I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.

So you may be wondering what the hell is Indoroni?! It happens to be Brian's favorite meal from our favorite restaurant, Food Shack. {{Fun Fact: Food Shack catered our rehearsal dinner! So fun & delish! Also, we were lucky enough to have the owner cooking for us along with Brian's friend Dru who works at FS. Call me a groupie but I think it is pretty cool that the owner of our FAVORITE restaurant was cooking just for us!}}
Anyway, an indoroni is mac & cheese on steroids. It has onions, garlic and chili peppers, and sriracha. The standard comes with chicken but if you want to do it right you have to get tandori rare tuna or scallops on top! Okay, now I'm hungry!

We got a stand mixer and an ice cream maker attachment as a Christmas present from my mother-in-law. Brian and I started experimenting with ice cream recipes. It became our thing to do together. What flavor are we going to try this time? What toppings do you want to add now? We ate mint chip, peanut butter, cake batter, vanilla...with chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, caramel, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles...you get the point!

Our vows were perfect for us.
I cherish the memory I have of saying our vows to each other.
This really is a once in a lifetime love.
