Our Wedding: The Cake Topper

I am SO happy to finally be sharing with you our amazing cake topper! I found this shop on Etsy in 2011, a couple months after we got engaged. I loved the idea of personalizing our topper just for us. I loved the idea of being able to include our dogs as well. We don't have the well behaved dogs that could carry the rings on their backs all the way down the aisle. They would have been jumping on laps & knocking over grandma! After MONTHS of coming back to this topper, I finally made the purchase in February of 2012. Like I said, I am SO happy to finally show this off because I feel like it's been our little secret for over a year. I started getting so antsy towards the end of planning. I am not one for keeping secrets and I love to share my projects and great finds. That was one of the hardest things for me about wedding planning, keeping it all to myself for SO LONG! HA!

The shop that I purchased these from is called Itty Bitty Wood Shoppe. Now, if you search these figurines on Etsy you will find that there are a lot of options out there. You can even get the plain wood figurines {On Etsy or an arts & crafts store} and paint them yourself. I'm all for being crafty & DIY but I just did not have time to make these myself. I also don't know how easy it would be to make the dogs or my bouquet & sash. Just letting you know your options!

I LOVE the little chihuahua, Bella & the lab mutt, Lola figurines! Didn't they turn out so cute. Brian had to adopt Bella because we came as a packaged deal. She's been there since day 1 of our relationship. Our dogs are a big part of our life. I was really happy to include them in the biggest day of our lives together.

The funny thing about our cake topper is that in February of 2012 I was planning on wearing my hair down. For my hair trial I tried a half up, half down look. Ultimately, I decided on a no fuss up do!

I hope that if you are looking for a cake topper you will check out the Etsy shop where I got mine. And once I have the photos from my photographer, I will have better shots of the cake topper...especially with it on the cake! LOL My photographer blogged about our wedding and there is a picture or two with the topper & cake. You can check out those pictures here.
