Happy Easter Everyone!
I don't know if it's being newlyweds or what but I feel like I am enjoying holidays so much more this year. We are creating traditions. I normally do a little something for Easter but this year I wanted to step it up a notch. I found a super fun basket that just so happened to match the eggs I painted this year. I filled it with all sorts of traditional and nontraditional Easter goodies for Brian and I.

I found most of our goodies at Target. The number one requirement for the Kozell basket is Cadbury Creme Eggs. They are an absolute must! Last year, Brian's Mom bought him a case of the creme eggs. We put them in the freezer and finished them just a couple months ago. It was ridiculous. Ridiculously good. Something Brian and I have in common is a love for white chocolate. Some people don't like white chocolate. We wonder what's wrong with them. LOL On most days, I would chose white chocolate over milk or dark chocolate. I'm also on a dark chocolate kick though. I bought white chocolate m&m's, Dove white chocolate eggs, Lindt white chocolate inside of milk chocolate. The other common theme is the blue and yellow color scheme. If you follow along on here, my Facebook or Instragram than you know that I have a healthy obsession with the color aqua. I'll be honest, I bought the large aqua m&m for the basket strictly because it is my favorite color. I also found plastic eggs that I filled with the Cadbury eggs. I didn't want to overload us with sweets since it is B's birthday weekend and I knew we'd be eating all sorts of unhealthy things but I had room left in the basket. So I got creative with my basket stuffers. LOL I wanted to be practical too. Brian got Crew shampoo {trying something new}, shaving cream and deodorant. The fur-babies got Apple Bacon treats. Since I am playing Easter Bunny I decided that wine, a magazine, protein bars & colorful dish towel are perfectly acceptable for an Easter basket. Don't you agree?!
A couple years ago I discovered paper mache eggs. I used to sell them. Last year I made six for myself in aqua, yellow and glittery aqua. This year I decided to expand my collection. I plan to continue for years to come. I have been so busy lately that I knew I'd only have time to make a small wreath. I love the way it turned out. It's a flat wooden circle. I painted the eggs with Martha Stewart paints and free-handed the chevron pattern along with the solids. I used craft glue and baker's twine to complete the project. I reused the Kozell sign B made for our Valentine's wreath. I used the small ruffle bowl from Crate & Barrel that we got as a wedding present to hold the rest of the eggs. I love really really really like the way the eggs look in the bowl. {B says I use the word love to liberally so I'm trying to cut back LOL}
I painted my nails in fun, bright, Easter-y colors. I like Essie polish. I think I used Cute As A Button, Mint Candy Apple and Bond With Whomever. I free-handed the color blocking. I think it turned out pretty good. What do you think?
Confession: I created this Easter chalkboard in 15 minutes and it stayed up for about 4 hours. I took the picture and then went to work on B's birthday chalkboard. I am not going to lie, I am not liking this whole two holidays in one weekend thing. It's totally cramping my creative style. I do not know how people have birthdays or anniversaries on holidays. B's birthday chalkboard was more important than the Easter chalkboard.
It turned out so good!
I think B enjoyed our Easter basket stuffers. He started out saying, "So I'm assuming the wine and magazine are for me." Then identified which things were his & mine. His eye lit up like a kid on, well Easter when he realized the 12 plastic eggs housed Cadbury eggs.
I hope the Easter Bunny in your life is good to you today! We were going to head up to have breakfast with B's Dad but he is sick so it is probably going to be a low key Easter with lots of relaxing. Sounds amazing. The rest of the day is up for grabs.
