Thankful #3

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

I was hoping to get a few more thankful posts in however work has been kicking my butt. I have had to bring my computer home and work late several days in the last week which is saying something since I have not had to do that since I switched positions officially in September.

So on the last day of November, I am thankful for my family and friends! More so now that I am married and have a much bigger family to be thankful for. We are making our selections for our wedding album so we have been pouring over all of our wedding day photos. 1400 of them to be exact! It makes me heart so happy to see so many people that we love and that are near and dear to our hearts in one room. Saying that that is the happiest day of my life is an understatement. It just does not do justice with how thankful I am for my life and the people in it. I am so proud of the life that Brian and I have created for ourselves and it most certainly would not be possible without our family and our friends.

I have been missing my Oregon family a lot lately. Maybe it is the fact that I know I will not be seeing my Dad, Teresa {my stepmom}, Hannah {my sister} and Michael {my brother} around the holidays. Since 2008, Brian and I have been flying to Oregon for either Thanksgiving or Christmas every year. The last year we were able to do that was Christmas 2011. Our wedding was a week and a half after Thanksgiving 2012. Then with the wedding on December 1st and getting home from the honeymoon on December 12th. We weren't able to take more time off from work. This whole growing up and having careers things isn't always a walk in the park. :) I am hoping we can go to Oregon at least once a year. This year my brother got married so we decided to use our one trip to celebrate with them and the family. I hope we will be able to go out for Christmas 2014. That is my goal. It is just crazy how time flies.

I am thankful that somehow this only child until the age of 17 has ended up with 3 sisters and 4 brothers!

I am so thankful for the friends who have turned into family over the years. Some of the best memories of my life have happened with 3 of my best friends: Ashley, Dawn and Laura! I am grateful for their friendships. It is really neat to see where life has taken us from middle & high school to successful careers and growing our families with puppies and babies. We don't all live in the same zip code or even state anymore but we get together and it is like no time has passed. Love them and all my other wonderful friends. I am thankful to be reconnecting with my childhood friend, Lyndi whom I've know since I was 6. I am thankful for my bridesmaid, Megan and sister-in-law, Lilia! I have made great friends from my master's program and work.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! I am slowly Christma-fying our townhouse. I am so excited to use our finished tree skirt. We jumped the gun and picked out our christmas tree last weekend! I just could not wait since we did not even buy a tree last year.

Tomorrow is our 1 year wedding anniversary. I cannot even believe it!
