One Year Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday, Brian and I celebrated our very first wedding anniversary! It is so surreal. It feels like it has been just a few short months and years ago all at the same time. Although, we have been living like a married couple for years so I am not really surprised it feels like more than a year.

I am big on traditions so it was important to me to follow the traditional anniversary gift guide lines. In case you aren't familiar, the first anniversary gift is paper. When I told this to Brian, he quickly and cleverly replied "So does this mean I only have to buy you a card?"
We are saving for our first home but we still wanted to celebrate our first year of marriage. We decided it was not practical to get away on our anniversary because this year it fell 3 days after Thanksgiving {Last year, our wedding was a week and a half after Thanksgiving.} and we were doing 4 hours of driving between last Wednesday and Thursday. I have been wanting to go to Disney at Christmas time for years. We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween for a few years with my family and I could always see the parks preparing for Christmas but never got to see the place all lit up. We have left over days on our park hopper passes so that will keep our costs down. We also wanted to check out Gaylord Palms ICE! Exhibit. For details click here.
We are staying at this beautifully lit place later this month. I.cannot.wait!!!!!
I could not be more excited for this anniversary trip with my husband of one year! I figured we can save our tickets to Disney and ICE! as part of our traditional "paper" gift ;)

Last night, on our anniversary, we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Too Bizaare. We had Goat Cheese Marinara Dip {Amazing!}, Crab Stuffed Portabella and a Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll. Our tastes buds were in paradise! I would love to make it a tradition that we celebrate at Too Bizaare each anniversary. All about the traditions!
{Pardon the dark restaurant/phone camera pic!}
We heart sushi!
Surprisingly the only champagne that Brian can stand is rosé. We always break out our wedding flutes for special occasions. Here is a close up on our pretty flutes. {Love our cutting board from my sweet friend, Britt! She is getting married in just a few short months!}

I love love love our wedding vows. You can read more about them here. We added our own personalization to the vows from The Vow. I always joke that we had our vows written by hollywood writers!

I will be posting all about our wedding cake, defrosting it & how it tasted soon!
