DIY Advent Calendar

Growing up I always had an advent calendar. You know the ones...rectangle box and cheap chocolate. For years I have been wanting to create my own advent calendar. Fill it with the things we want to eat and activities we like to do leading up to Christmas. And by "we" I mean me and Hubby is just such a good sport. After 7.5 years he knows it is easier to let me get my Christmas Crazy on than fight it. Brian and I joked that if I could I would put "Drive around and look at Christmas lights" every.single.day. I think the pictures below are pretty self explanatory. ;)

 I love to play around with free-hand drawing different fonts.

I am so committed to my design that I will have to patch 16 nail holes when I take the calendar down! But it is so worth it. It is fun and unique and I can guarantee that no one else has this exact advent calendar. My future plan is to sew a felt or fabric advent calendar. I would like something durable that will last for years to come! I always have a project or ten in the works. Stay tuned!
