I don't know about you but I am so happy that my Monday work day is O-V-E-R! It was a pretty good day but Mondays are just so exhausting to me. So to make Monday a little sweeter, I thought I would share some of my current favorite TV shows.
Confession: I am a major TV junkie. Luckily, I am married to another TV junkie! Our daily routine includes winding down after work by watching TV while eating dinner and then afterwards I am usually crafting something. I have a very hard time doing one thing at a time. I am working on trying to be more present in what I am doing at any given time. Anybody else feel like there are never enough hours in the day? Or enough money for all my creative projects...

Well today I am sharing some of our favorite TV shows that I think everybody should be watching!
How I Met Your Mother
HIMYM is one of my favorite shows of all time and I think my Hubby would agree. We stumbled upon this show while Brian was building our entertainment center a few years ago. We were set up in our living room painting all the pieces and just started watching an episode. We.were.hooked. We watched the first 6 seasons in like a month and a half. The show is currently on season 9 which is the final season. To this day, we will watch re-runs and laugh just as hard as the first time we watched them. This show has started so many inside jokes for Brian and me. It is simply hilarious. There is never a bad episode like I said, we've watched many episodes more than once. Do yourself a favor and check this show out. Warning: Laughter will ensue!
The Walking Dead
I am a diehard fan of Entertainment Weekly's radio station on Sirius XM. And because of that, Brian and I have started watching a ridiculous amount of new new for us TV shows. We caught up on the first 2 seasons in less than a month and then had to wait the longest 3 weeks of our lives {mild exaggeration} for the 3rd season to be released. Then we realized it was On Demand on AMC all along. Face-five! If you like zombies than this show is for you. I was so disappointed that we didn't go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal this year {I've never been}. The main theme was The Walking Dead. I would have screamed my little heart out while I was totally geeking out since they had replicas of sets from each season. It sounded so cool. Only downfall to this show is I now have an rational irrational rational fear of a zombie apocalypse breaking out any day now. Just remember, I warned you. The walkers are coming! ;)
Game of Thrones
Another amazing recommendation from EW Radio. I guess it would be considered Fantasy since it has realms and kingdoms and dragons - oh my! ;) It sucked us in right away. We watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix. The problem for us is that it is an HBO show which we do not have. The 3rd season won't release on Netflix until 2014 which is when season 4 premieres. It is kind of torture to wait that long because this is such a good show. It is fast moving and the writers are not afraid to kill off major main characters leaving you to pick your jaw off the ground. We love that!
Parenthood
Yet another recommendation from EW Radio :) That's 3 new amazing shows in like 4 months. We actually started this show last weekend. We proceeded to binge on it for 12 hours in one day. We got through 1 ½ seasons in 3 days. We watched this all yesterday. Binging is the best! The way I describe this show is like Modern Family but about real life, not just the funny stuff.
Revenge
Revenge is currently on its 3rd season. I still think season 1 was the best but I am a loyal watcher. The first season I watched every single episode 3 times. I feel like season 3 is bringing it back to its greatness of season 1. You are missing out if you are not watching this show!
Pretty Little Liars
I guess I would call this one of my guilty pleasures since I am watching a show about high schoolers although it doesn't really have much to do with them being in high school {do you see how I try to justify it?!}. I feel like once my 10 year high school reunion passed this past May that I should not be watching high school shows. PLL is grandfathered in of course. I absolutely love this show. There are so many twists and turns, it always keeps my attention. Do yourself a favor and let this be the one high school show you watch!
Orphan Black
This is now the fourth TV show we started watching in 4 months thanks to EW Radio. This show is on BBC America and Hubby was skeptical for the first episode or two but we were quickly hooked. This show is pretty amazing as every single character above is played by the same actress and most of the scenes are with multiple versions of herself because spoiler alert, she's a clone. Not a huge spoiler since it comes out at the very beginning. This actress deserves many awards as there are many times that I have to remind myself that it is the same person because the characters are so different and she plays them so well. Lucky for you this show has only had 1 season {season 2 is next year} so it won't take long to catch up.
Dexter
We just started watching Dexter. I know, we are very late to the party. We started watching and we are not going to stop! The great thing about finding a show later on is that we can binge watch and not wait years to find out the next plot twist. When we started Dexter, it was only available on discs from Netflix however they just moved it to instant watch. Score!
The Big Bang Theory
One word: BAZINGA! This show is so funny! We caught a few episodes and decided we needed to see this show from the beginning. Brian and I both love this show. It is very clever and silly and awesome!
Cougar Town
I love this advertisement because it says it all. The name of this show is very misleading. The first couple of episodes were a little cougar-y but they must have quickly realized they needed to make some changes and ever since it has been a hilarious show that both of us love. We now make jokes about truth guns, penny can and Big Carl. So pour yourself a giant Big Carl sized glass of wine and enjoy this show!
Brian watches every single one of these with me except he doesn't like PLL {no surprise there!} and Revenge he just somewhat likes so he watches sometimes. We have talked about how we don't know how our relationship would work if one of us did not like to watch TV because it is a pretty big part of what we do and it has brought so many laughs and jokes to who we are. I love it.
Now, I don't think I have given you the full picture of how much TV we watch. Here are my honorable mentions since if I did a full review of all our shows this post would be a mile long! :)
Modern Family
The Vampire Diaries - my show :)
Once Upon A Time
Grey's Anatomy
{I have been watching GA since it premiered in 2005.}
The Middle
Hart of Dixie - my show :)
Raising Hope
Reality TV
{Obviously, these are Brian's favorite shows.....................NOT!}
Giuliana & Bill
Tia & Tamera
The Real Housewives of Orange County
For the men in your life, I suggest you try out these shows. Obviously, a lot of the shows I mentioned above are man-friendly as well. I watch all of these with Brian.
The League
Archer
Hawaii 5-0
Falling Skies
Royal Pains
Covert Affairs
Sleepy Hollow
The Blacklist
In case you are bad at math, I have shared with you TWENTY-EIGHT shows that I watch and Brian watches most of them too. Believe it or not, we still have more shows but I have to cap it somewhere and I am probably even forgetting some that are just not on right now. Luckily these shows are on different times of the year or I don't think we would ever leave the house! I hope that you will find a new show on this list that you will enjoy with someone special.
