Hey Y'all!
How was your weekend lovely readers?
We had an action packed one!
Friday night, Husband and I went to an engagement party of one of my very dear friends from grad school. Fun fact: the lovely couple got engaged just 11 days after our wedding AND they got engaged in St. Lucia, where we were honeymooning at the time {separately, we didn't see them}
We ate amazing Italian food prepared by the Bride's father. If you are in Fort Lauderdale you should totally try Anna's Italian Restaurant. There was SO much yummy food, some stand outs for us were the eggplant park & stuffed shells {There were plenty of others but I don't know the names of the dishes}. Below you can see that we were watching our waistlines and having a light dessert. Ha! {No shame} I am still waiting to see the pictures we took with the Bride and Groom-to-be.
Saturday morning, I met one of my other very favorite people from Nova in Fort Lauderdale. Caity was in town for a family event and it was SO nice to catch up with someone who I hung out with majority of the week for 8 months of internships in school. I hadn't seen Caity since she flew in for my wedding and before that it was graduation last June.
I met Caity at the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale and we had lunch by the pool. The picture below is of the best fish tacos I've ever had. Seriously. I cannot stop dreaming about these tacos. We ate & caught up on life. It was a great Saturday!
The hotel is just across the street from the beach. It was beautiful even with sporadic sprinkles of rain.
Driving down Las Olas Boulevard lined with palm trees!
Saturday night, Husband & I drove up to Vero Beach to have dinner at Ocean Grill. I'm bummed because we didn't take any pictures. B's grandmother was in town so we had dinner with her, my father -in-law & his girlfriend. {Do you like how I stick FIL in there rather than just saying B's Dad. Hehe *Newlywed corny-ness*} If you are ever in Vero, you must go to this restaurant. I had grilled lamb chops which were exceptionally delish. B had the fried grouper. We also had crab stuffed mushrooms and what I would call a scallops casino rather than clams casino. Everything was yum-diddlie-umious!
This post is already so long and I haven't even gotten to the best event of all, The Color Run! I will post Part Two of my weekend this week. You will most definitely want to check back to see the colorful photos I have in store. I posted a few on my instagram. You can follow me @ashleykozell.
