Nursery Inspiration

Today, I am sharing Baby K's nursery inspiration. As a person who loves design and decorating, I have been dreaming of nursery ideas since before we got pregnant. Once we found out we were having a boy, I created private boards on Pinterest {Aren't those the best?!} to brainstorm his nursery. I went back and forth between a nautical theme and a outdoorsy theme nursery. I think most people would guess that I would go nautical as I love coastal design and style. Maybe that's a little bit of why I decided to switch it up and bring the rustic outdoors into the Kozell home. And really, who can resist foxes, owls and deer? So random but I actually saved Bambi figurines {Bambi, Thumper and Flower} from a trip to Disney I took with my mom in elementary or middle school for my future kids. I completely forgot about the figurines for years until I unpacked them in the move; after we had decided on the rustic nursery. It was meant to be!

As I had shared last week in a sneak peek, we made the decision to change the wall color from Owl Gray to Forget Me Not {both by Benjamin Moore} which we are very happy with. I liked the gray but the blue just feels more right for his nursery.

I put together a little inspiration board so that I could see all the pieces I have been thinking about incorporating into Baby K's nursery. I chose neutral furniture pieces so that we can use them again in the future whether we have a boy or a girl. The Husband/Baby Daddy ;) left most of the design decisions up to me but we tested the rocker together and looked at cribs in store to make our final decisions together. So far we have received our crib and nursery rocker which are from Pottery Barn. We'll add pops of navy, aqua and orange in the accessories.
Once we get the nursery moving along and purchases finalized, I will do a post with sources for the room. I am so so so excited to see Baby K's room come together! Tomorrow, I will be 32 weeks with 8 +/- weeks to go. I cannot believe we are in the final countdown. On Sunday, we'll be saying 'Our baby is due next month.' Holy shit. ;)
