28 Weeks: Happy New Year!

Apparently, adjusting back from vacation and getting back on Florida time has affected us more than expected because I have not been able to get to my chalkboard or this blog. The only photo we took of the bump from Week 28 was on Sunday after our nursery chair was delivered. The first major piece of Baby K's nursery - Yay! Hubby snapped this shot to send to his Dad and MJ who generously bought us the swivel rocker. {Side note: the rocker has a slipcover which is currently not on the chair.}

How far along: 28 weeks {+6 days today! A little late this week - oops!}. Hello 3rd trimester and welcome 2015!
Gender: Boy!
Baby size: The size of a large eggplant LOL
Total weight gain/loss: Surprisingly, I have only gained 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks! I was afraid to step on the scale New Year's Eve last Wednesday coming off of our Christmas trip to Oregon. Let's just say, we did not miss a meal ;)
Maternity clothes: My pre-preggers yoga capris officially feel uncomfortable when I sit so almost 100% maternity wear.
Stretch marks: I am still using Mustela Stretch Marks Double Action Lotion which seems to be working. Like I've mentioned, there is a spot or two on the side of my chest that I am unsure about but my belly appears all clear....at the moment.
Sleep: The new normal is turning from side to side because my hip or shoulder gets sore occasionally. And when I turn, I realize I have to pee. I was reading Natasha's 38 week post from schue love and it made me laugh because she said she feels like a turtle on its back when trying to get out of bed and it makes me nervous because that's a good way to describe how it feels turning over or getting up...and I'm only at week 28! Eek!
Best moment this week: I read that if you put your ear against my stomach you could hear baby's heartbeat. Brian tried this and while he didn't hear his heartbeat, he could hear baby boy's movements when baby would kick or jab which is so cool! Also, we were cracking up that baby boy was kicking and jabbing his daddy in the head. These are the little moments that I know we will cherish forever.
Miss anything: Energy? I know it is all in my head but supposedly you lose some of that second trimester energy and I swear, I came home last Wednesday and laid down on the couch and nearly fell asleep which I haven't done since the first trimester. Brian thinks I'm crazy which has absolutely nothing to do with me thinking that I lost all my energy the day I entered the third trimester ;)
Movement: Best thing ever! And now I am able to tell that he is rolling or squirming around as opposed to just feeling jabs.
Food cravings: My drink of choice lately is anything cranberry apple - cranapple juice or cranberry apple sparkling cider - yum!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Honestly, it has held out a lot longer than I thought it would. My belly button is a fighter!
Wedding rings on or off: Still mostly on
Mood: Peachy keen! Mostly ;)
Looking forward to: {This coming week} Baby K's appointment on Monday. It's been weird having a whole month off from going to a doctor's appointment LOL {This month} My baby shower is THIS month! I am so excited to see my friends and family...and for baby boy to "hear" how many people are waiting to love on him!
Random: I cannot believe we are already in the 3rd trimester. You always hear how fast it goes by but really, you don't get it until it is happening before your eyes. There are a lot more conversations between Bri and I that go something like "Can you believe we're going to have a baby?" "Next NYE there is going to be a baby here!" "This time next year, we'll have a 9 month old" "There is a baby in there {pointing at my stomach LOL}" It is still surreal and really has not sunk in. Maybe it will sink in by the time he's coming out ;)

We are going to welcome our baby boy THIS year! I have a feeling 2015 is going to be a life changing year ;)

Happy 2015!
xo
