I shared the above photo on my Instagram this past Wednesday which is my week-iversary ;) I never would have thought I would want to share my bare belly - pregnant or not! However, I love being pregnant and I love this belly and the boy that is a mystery inside.
I am sharing this bumpdate late, again! I actually did start typing this up on Wednesday so of course, I have now had my awesome baby shower that I cannot wait to share the details of. It was so special just like all the ladies who came. Love!
Gender: Boy!
Baby size: Squash according to the bump app but they are also measuring a squash at 15" - 16.5" which is a massive squash. I'm thinking they are running out of large fruits and veggies to compare the babe to ;)
Total weight gain/loss: I'm going to call it 20 pounds as I seem to be fluctuating between 19-20 lbs.
Maternity clothes: You know it!
Stretch marks: Still applying lotion morning and night. So far, so good!
Sleep: I feel like compared to what I read, I am sleeping pretty well. I'm happy to report for Brian's sake that my snoring has gotten better.
Best moment this week: We celebrated the one year birthday of my best friend's little boy over the weekend which was great getting to catch up and see what we're in for. I can't wait for Landon and Baby K to be besties! We also went to a new breakfast spot with my former stepmom and excited grandma-to-be, Lauren. I had shrimp and grits and Bri got cinnamon roll french toast. Both were delicious and we would get both of them again. My mouth is watering just thinking of Hubby's french toast. Yum!
Miss anything: Trader Joe's Buffalo Jerky. It is so good! Bri loves it so we picked up some for him, his dad and his brother who are coming over to work at the house this weekend. I have been staring at it every time I walk in the kitchen for the last two days. And if you did not pick up on it, jerky is something you are not supposed to eat when you are pregnant.
Movement: Lots and I am loving it! Although he seems to be shy because I swear he moves so much more when no one is around. We joke that if I want him to stop moving around all I have to do is tell Bri he's moving and Bri comes over, puts his hand on my stomach and baby boy stops moving. It is kind of comical after weeks and weeks of this.
Food cravings: Still grapefruit, oranges, pineapple and cheese. I've been making more smoothies lately which has been delicious. I think I could eat grilled steak every single day even if I do have to eat it well done. Twice this week, we did steak with mac and cheese and tomato with mozzarella and balsamic. So delicious. I cannot wait to have a medium rare steak again! And I recently picked up Trader Joe's Cookie Butter Cookies. So good!
Labor signs: No real ones. Pretty sure I had my first braxton hicks contraction on 1.22.15. And like a weirdo, I got excited because I get excited every time I get a new symptom. Apparently, I really am one of those people who just loves being pregnant - the good, the bad and the hormonal!
Belly button in or out: Still in! But it is very shallow and the top of my belly button sticks out just slightly. Not that I analyze it daily or anything ;) Peek-a-boo!
Wedding rings on or off: Mostly on.
Mood: Good mood still but definitely starting to have moments of anxiety when I think about labor and delivery or that we need to finish as many house projects as possible in less than 8 weeks.
Looking forward to: My baby shower is THIS weekend! I am looking forward to being surrounded by some of my favorite ladies to celebrate baby boy's fast approaching arrival. Plus we've been so busy with the house, baby and work that I have been neglectful and not seen much of my friends and family, unless they come to the house to help us ;)
Symptoms: I have been so much more clumsy lately - dropping things and hitting my knuckles on random things. I've also discovered a correlation between cleaning and back pain. Brian calls it my pregnancy IDWT = I don't want to's ;) While I am anxiously waiting to get in and decorate his nursery, I am clearly not in cleaning nesting mode yet.
I am going to go enjoy the last hours of this Sunday with my Hubby! We have had a busy weekend of festivities and house projects which I do intend to share some progress photos soon. There is so much going on in the Kozell household and it is only going to get busier over the next +/- 7.5 weeks. I hope I will be able to keep my weekly posts going because this is like a pregnancy journal for me and I know I will cherish reading this one day. Aww, hormonal tear! Ha!
