The bump is crowding the chalkboard this week! LOL
So I totally missed last week's update but I imagine things are going to get more hectic as the weeks dwindle. How do we have FIVE weeks left? Maybe less. Maybe more? The uncertainty is starting to give me momentary panic attacks.
How far along: 35 weeks 2.18.15
Gender: Boy
Baby size: Baby weighs as much as a honeydew melon at over 5 pounds and on average 18 inches long...how is all that in my belly?
Total weight gain/loss: 23 lbs...I've gained 2 lbs from last week...I blame it on the Indoroni (mac & cheese) I ate at Food Shack on Monday ;)
{34 weeks 2.11.15}
Sleep: I think I am still sleeping pretty well. I do switch from side to side a few times a night and I get up at least once a night to use the bathroom but now every once in awhile I make a second trip. I think Bri's sleep is getting worse though with my snoring! Sorry Hubby! Hopefully this is one of those symptoms that goes away after pregnancy or I at least go back to being the occasional snorer that I was ;)
Best moment this week: Valentine's weekend was a great weekend! The only plans we really had were getting maternity photos taken on Valentine's Day {what a perfect way to spend love day} and going to IKEA on Sunday to purchase items for Baby K's nursery. I think I will reminisce on this weekend when we are sleep deprived and up to our elbows in baby poop. It was low key and wonderful! We slept in and did not get out of bed until around 11am. It was magical. It was the most relaxing Saturday we have had in awhile with all the go-go-go of house projects, baby prepping and the holidays. Bri made us breakfast, I gave Bri a hair cut, we showered and got ready for our photoshoot later, we had a late delicious lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Alaina's Bake Shoppe & Cafe. We finished off lunch with two mini cupcakes - cannoli and chocolate. Alaina's desserts are near and dear to my heart as we used her cupcakes to tell some of our family and friends that Baby K is a boy as well as the bake shoppe recently made the french macarons for my baby shower {that I still plan to blog about! I started the post at least.} We headed to the beach for our maternity shoot and it was a blast! We had great weather, a pretty sunset and a variety of different settings to get lots of great photos. I cannot wait to see the results! Sunday we woke up slightly earlier, around 10am ;) We got Dunkin Donuts and headed down to IKEA with our shopping list. It was a long day as any trip to IKEA is but it was great to spend that one on one time with my Hubby. We talked, we laughed and we got excited for Baby K and his nursery. Bri even picked out the color of the dresser! When your Hubby shows an interest in decorating decisions, you go with it...as long as your Hubby actually has a good eye. Most of the time. We came home and Bri built the dresser and two storage cubies; all in one night after a full shopping day at IKEA. Have I mentioned how awesomely amazing my Hubby is? Baby boy is SO lucky to have such an great daddy! We continued a great couple of days by having dinner at our most favorite place, Food Shack Monday night with my former stepmom, Lauren and her friend. It had been awhile so it made it extra delicious!

{34 ½ weeks 2.14.15}
Miss anything: For the most part, no. It is only in the moment like watching Bri eat my favorite sandwich from Alaina's - the Fig'n Delicious which has prosciutto and brie that I can't have while preggo. Oh, and the Tuna Basil Roll he had a bite of at Food Shack. I should have made out with him after that and the beer he had...kidding. Mostly. He is the sweetest though because he totally turned down the tuna roll which he had also not had since before I got pregnant. Lauren and I insisted that he have a bite and I don't think he regrets that decision for a second. I may have requested for that to be delivered to the hospital along with a Fig'n Delicious sandwich from Alaina's and sushi from Too Bizaare. Movement: Lots of movement throughout the day but I have definitely picked up on the fact that he usually starts moving around 20 minutes or so after I eat along with in the mornings and night. I love feeling him move. I am feeling more hiccups lately which is fun for me and my baby daddy. The weekend before Valentine's, my father-in-law and brother-in-law, Bobby were over working at the house and they got to feel some hiccups too. I love sharing this experience with our family.
Food cravings: Fruit, Goldfish, Cranapple juice, OJ
Labor signs: No. I am not experiencing any Braxton Hicks contraction either. I think I may have felt the BH contractions only one time so far.
Belly button in or out: I guess I would say it is a little bit in and a little bit out. Haha! The top flap pokes out a little but it is still an innie I would say.
Wedding rings on or off: Mostly on but I definitely have times when I can feel my fingers are swollen.
Mood: Mostly good and happy still but definitely starting to feel more overwhelmed with all that there is left to do and anxiety about being as prepared as possible for the unknown including labor, delivery and then being responsible for a tiny human.
Looking forward to: Hearing his heartbeat and that he is healthy and on track at our next appointment. After this week, we start going weekly until he is born which is still so crazy to think that we are at this point. Also, I am excited to get Baby K's nursery put together and getting as many house projects done in the next 5 +/- weeks! It still has not hit me that we will be holding our baby boy next month.
Random thoughts: So, I just have to say that sometimes the things the baby apps tell you each week are really funny. When I think about our growing boy, I think about his heart and lungs and brain being healthy and oh, this week he can blink his eyes. Wow, now he can hear my voice and react to sounds and light. Well, this week apparently his little baby balls have descended! Proud mama over here! Haha! Apparently, I'm super immature about boy bits...
Symptoms: I have definitely noticed an increase in bathroom trips. My bladder is clearly cramped. Overall, I don't feel like I am very swollen or puffy but I am noticing my feet are starting to swell at times along with the occasional flare ups in my fingers. Like I mentioned above, I seem to be snoring more. ;) Of course, there is the symptom that nobody wants to talk about which is constipation. There, I said it. Moving on! Overall, I haven't had many weird dreams but the other night I had one where we were at the hospital for my 35 week check up (why?) and we had to share a room with this couple who were having a baby (clearly, realistic). I'm sitting there in a hospital gown and we had to watch this lady give birth which was of course traumatizing but then a group of their friends came in and they started partying and drinking (what?!) so the nurse asked us to watch their newborn baby (!?!?). Oh, and then the doctor came in and said 'We've decided you're ready to have the baby so we're going to induce you today.' But, but I'm only 35 weeks....?! Thank you crazy pregnancy hormones mixed with crazy anxiety starting to creep its way in!
Not related to pregnancy or maybe it is since I am so tired but I am SO happy tomorrow is Friday! Even though our weekends are crazy busy, it is nice to check things off the ever expanding list. We've made so much progress on the nursery as well as the rest of the house so add that to the list of blog posts I swear I will post someday soon...right?
Another photo from our walk after our maternity session. Sometimes, I forget to stop and appreciate the paradise we live in.
