36 + 37 weeks

It seems to be getting harder and harder to keep up with weekly bump updates as we are in the final countdown to baby! The countdown includes getting as many house projects done as possible, wrapping up work, finishing my licensure supervision hours, taking 15 hours of online courses for my marriage and family therapist license and submitting my application BEFORE Baby Boy Kozell makes his grand entrance! No pressure.

If you follow me on Instagram then you have been able to catch glimpses of the belly as I am able to share things quicker on there.
2.25.15...nine whole months!

How far along: 36 weeks 2.25.15 = NINE MONTHS!
Gender: A little dude!
Baby size: According to the baby apps, he is approximately as long as a head of romaine lettuce and weighs as much as a large cantaloupe. He is putting on around an ounce a day!
Total weight gain/loss: 25 lbs as of 2.25.15
Maternity clothes: They are the best! My best advice to someone in their first trimester is to invest in some good pregnancy jeans sooner rather than later. I wish I didn't wait as long to get mine.
Stretch marks: Belly is still clear!
Sleep: For 9 months preggo, I think I am sleeping pretty good. I am definitely waking up at least 2 if not 3 times a night to use the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Finding out that Baby Boy is head down on 2.20.15! I was all concerned with how the heck we would know for sure that he was in the right position for his debut. Well, there I was laying on the table and the doctor measured my belly and then pressed on my lower stomach/bladder area and said "There's his head." I was like "Wait, what?" I figured I would have been able to tell but I have no clue when that happened. Also, it is pretty crazy that they can feel around the the outside and know it is his head.
Miss anything: Not really, especially since I have been making a list of all the foods I'd like delivered to the hospital or to the house after the baby comes! I can't wait to eat sushi, a Fig'n Delicious panini from Alaina's Bake Shoppe, medium rare steak, Tuna Basil Roll from Food Shack and all the brie and goat cheese I can handle!
Movement: Yes but it has changed in recent weeks as he has less room to move around. Also, I thought I was rubbing his head at the top of my stomach but once we confirmed that he has indeed turned, I realized I've been rubbing his tush! Haha! When the doctor was  measuring and poking my stomach to check that he was head down, it felt like he pushed out left and right with his hands. It is still so cool.
Food cravings: Fruit, OJ, Chipotle soft taco
Labor signs: None
Belly button in or out: Both :)
Wedding rings on or off: Still mostly on.
Mood: Happy mixed with nervousness and anxiety!
Looking forward to: Brian's Beer & Diaper Party 3.1.15!!! I am so excited for Bri to get together with the guys because it doesn't happen as often as it used to now that we are all so busy. Also, my hubby bubby turns 30 on 3.30.15 and I wanted to make sure he got to do something fun since there is a good chance we will be up to our elbows in dirty diapers as he is ringing in the big 3-0! Oh, and I feel bad because Bri has been going to the 12 hours of Sebring race for years and years and it just so happens that the race is always the 3rd weekend in March which this year is the 21st...4 days before our due date! We always joked that nothing would get in the way of Bri having his guys weekend unless I was about to go into labor. Oops!
Symptoms: Starting to notice my feet are feeling a little bit swollen by the end of the day. My back starts to bother me after a weekend of getting things done around the house.
Random: I had my first dilation check at my appointment which fell at 35 weeks 2 days 2.20.15 and I am zero centimeters dilated and 10 to maybe 20% effaced {thinning of the cervix for those of you who don't know which included me up until this exam!}
2.28.15 = 36 weeks 3 days

3.2.15 = 36 weeks 5 days
Baby K likes to poke his butt out to the right on the front of my stomach like you can kind of see here and he pokes my left side with a hand, foot, elbow - who knows! It is amusing to think he already has habits and signature moves in the womb!

It is amazing how different my belly looks at different angles...below is during the same "photoshoot."
How far along: 37 weeks 3.4.15
Gender: All boy!
Baby size: According to the baby apps, baby is as big as a wintermelon.
Total weight gain/loss: 26 lbs
Maternity clothes: I heart my maternity clothes!
Stretch marks: Still no marks on my stomach but I'm thinking I have two on my chest. It is hard to tell because the marks are small, like a ¼-½" but they weren't there before I got pregnant so I'm assuming they are stretch marks. Something I didn't learn until about 7 months in is that I should have been wearing a sleeping bra for support. So I am passing that gem along because maybe that would have made a difference for me. I got myself measured and I have gone up two cup sizes and depending on the bra one-two band sizes. I got my sleep bras at Destination Maternity.
Sleep: Still mostly good all things considered. I have been able to sleep in lately with the way my work schedule has worked out which has been helpful.
Best moment this week: Now that we go to the doctor weekly until Baby K is born, it has been great to hear his heartbeat every week. Also, throwing my hubby his Beer & Diaper Party last weekend because he so deserved it! He has been working so hard and trying to get as many house projects done as possible so it was great for him to be able to kick back and relax and have some guy time with his friends, brother and dad.
Miss anything: I really don't miss anything because there are so many things that I am enjoying about being pregnant. I am trying to embrace all the good and the uncomfortable while being pregnant because it really is such a short period of time in life. I already know I will miss being pregnant. It is amusing to me because I feel like I heard and read so much about women who couldn't wait to not be pregnant or just seemed miserable throughout but I love being pregnant. Even on the "rough" days which I am fully aware that I have had a really mild and healthy pregnancy. I keep waiting for something to change but it hasn't. I guess we'll have to see if I am singing a different tune if I make it to 41 weeks! I have approximately 20 days left and I am not rushing this pregnancy to be over. I still feel good even with my feet starting to swell and nearly throwing my back out this past weekend. I want to enjoy every last day of this pregnancy. It has been so special and wonderful and amazing to go through this journey with Brian. Tangent over ;)
Movement: Throughout the day which still makes me smile every time.
Food cravings: Fruit, salt & vinegar chips, chocolate, sour or gummy candy. Pregnant or not - La Croix is always stocked in the Kozell household! Currently drinking Berry, Coconut and Grapefruit.
Labor signs: None yet!!!
Belly button in or out: The top of my belly button pokes out just a bit, sometimes I can see it through my shirt but the rest of it is still slightly in or flat. Not sure this makes sense!
Wedding rings on or off: Still mostly on. Surprisingly, I thought they would be off by now since early on had some swelling that made it uncomfortable to wear my rings from time to time.
Mood: Still feeling happy and good but my anxiety level has certainly increased 150% now that we are HAVING A BABY THIS MONTH! I am still trying to wrap my mind around this.
Looking forward to: Meeting our baby boy THIS MONTH! I honestly cannot comprehend that sentence. I still look at my hubby some days and say 'Can you believe there is a baby in there?!' I'm hoping that I'll wrap my mind around the fact that we are becoming parents by the time he's going to kindergarten! Our next doctor's appointment is Friday 3.6.15. I cannot wait to get his nursery all wrapped up but I am starting to worry that it won't be complete by the time he gets here because there is so much on our plates right now.
Symptoms: Oh my aching back! No joke, I almost threw my back out cleaning the house over the weekend. My feet have started to show some signs of swelling and I am mainly wearing flip flops because all my flats are tight. I am making several more trips to the bathroom these days. I have also noticed a little bit of heartburn in the last week or so. I seem to go between having energy or being able to take a nap anytime, anywhere. I feel like I have bouts of nesting but nothing too crazy.
Random: At our last appointment 2.27.15 I was 36 weeks 2 days. I am still zero centimeters dilated and 20% effaced. This is now my weekly excitement to find out if anything has changed. I have a feeling we are about to have a lot more excitement in the Kozell household :) In other random news, Bri's guess is that little man will be born March 27th {due date is March 25th} as Easter falls on March 27, 2016 which would be his first birthday if he did come on the 27th. Bri's birthday is March 30th and Easter fell on his first birthday. I think that would be pretty cool. I don't know why but I feel like I am going to at least make it to my due date if not later. I don't have a guess as to the exact date but it has crossed my mind a few times that our due date is so close to April that we could have an April baby if he sits tight. Easter is April 5th. He has to come before Easter, right? It's 11 days past my due date so the doctors wouldn't let me go that overdue, right? I know it is a little silly but I bought an Easter themed book for Baby K because it will be his very first holiday. I am trying to hold back on buying him an Easter basket :) Holidays are going to be so much more fun with a little bambino around. Mommy and son matching outfits are a thing, right? Not if Bri has any say...which he doesn't ;) Try to stop me Hubby and we'll be in matching family outfits instead if I have to sew them myself! Haha!
I saw this top at Destination Maternity while shopping for nursing tops {37 weeks 3 days} and I just had to put it on and take a picture. Pregnant or not - this is just a friendly suggestion! ;)

I have grand plans to blog about my second and third trimester favorites {I love reading other bloggers favorites!}, house updates for those interested in the non-pregnancy happenings in the Kozell household, nursery updates, etc. A girl can dream!

I have taken my 38 week picture since today I am 38 weeks aka 9 ½ months preggo {what?!} so I plan to finish the bumpdate and post tomorrow or Friday. Fingers crossed!

Happy Bump Hump Day!
