Yay! I took my picture on the right day this week even though my post is late. LOL My belly has certainly grown! I was looking at the last chalkboard picture which was at 35 weeks and I didn't realize just how much the bump has grown.
How far along: 38 weeks = 9 ½ months 3.11.15!
Gender: Boy
Baby size: Baby K is as big as a pumpkin ranging anywhere from 6-9lbs and 18-20 inches according to The Bump baby app!
Total weight gain/loss: Still 26 lbs like last week. When we were at our weekly appointment last Friday 3.6.15, the doctor mentioned my weight had stayed the same which is normal at this stage. I also happened to read an article on signs labor is near and it said not gaining more weight could be one...
Maternity clothes: Even some of my maternity clothes are becoming a bit snug ;)
Stretch marks: None on my stomach. Possibly 2-3 on my chest. My advice is to save the ta-tas by wearing a sleep bra (no wire) from the beginning. I think that is when my ta-tas grew the most but I didn't know about sleep bras until I was 7 months along. Now I'm paying it forward so to speak with my new found wisdom!
Sleep: I'd say I'm sleeping pretty good for 9 ½ months preggo! My hips take turns getting sore depending on which side I'm sleeping on but it usually gets better if I trade off sides. I am still waking up twice a night to use the bathroom. Hopefully my snoring isn't bugging my hubby too much!
Best moment this week: It's my last week of work before I start maternity leave so that is pretty freaking awesome since lugging my heavy work computer in my heavy work bag all over the county is getting pretty darn old at 38 weeks! Oh! I almost forgot...not baby related but super important. I finished my supervision hours for my license so I'm a few online courses away from being a licensed marriage and family therapist. It has been a very long journey but I am quite proud of this accomplishment. Yay! Go me! Way to get licensed right as I go on maternity leave LOL
Movement: I am soaking it up while he is still snug inside me :)
Food cravings: Salty...Sweet...I'll take it all! I've been really into the Acai Primo bowl from Jamba Juice lately. And cheese. I could always eat cheese. The latest easy meal I have had for my last week of work is a sandwich of 3 slices of cheese with spicy deli mustard. A cold cheese and mustard sandwich...yep!
Labor signs: None yet. I don't even think I've been having Braxton Hicks {fake} contractions which my doctor said makes sense since I have not dilated at all so far.
Belly button in or out: It pokes out just a little but I would call it more flat than in or out LOL I swear, my next pregnancy I am going to take belly button progression photos!
Wedding rings on or off: On & off
Mood: Still mostly happy and all that but man, my anxiety has shot sky high lately. I am absolutely terrified of labor, delivery and the recovery process afterward. The whole unknown has me really overwhelmed these days. It is weird to feel like a ticking time bomb!
Looking forward to: In the immediate future, enjoying our last food trucks event 3.13.15 before Baby K arrives and going to the greenmarket with my mom 3.14.15 since I have not gone at all this year with our weekends being jam packed with house projects. I am trying to do things that I wouldn't be able to do for awhile like the greenmarket. I cannot wait to take little man to the greenmarket as a family of 3 but I'm thinking it will be way too hot to do it before the greenmarket closes in May. I'd love to go see a movie with my hubby if we can but our days are certainly numbered. We are going to our favorite restaurant this coming Monday as well with my former stepmom which we are pretty excited about. Beyond the immediate future, I am looking forward to making more progress in the nursery and getting the house in order as our projects will be put on hold for a bit while we adjust to the new normal. And the most obvious answer, I am looking forward to holding our son and looking into his eyes for the very first time and watching Bri bond with our boy. It is going to be amazing. I am just trying not to think too much about how he actually arrives into my arms!
Symptoms: I am definitely noticing more swelling in my feet by the end of the day {cankles can be sexy, right? LOL} and my rings have been feeling tighter so I have mostly been wearing my wedding band during the day. I pretty much exclusively wear my flip flops now. I'm really hope it is just the swelling and not that my feet have permanently outgrown my cute flats. I've had a little heartburn but I noticed I've been okay when I am proactive in taking some Tums. My hips take turns getting sore at night depending on which side I sleep on longer even when I put a pillow in between my legs. Overall, I am noticing that I am slowing down. I walk slower, I move slower and I get wiped out easier but that is to be expected right?!
Thoughts: I am still in utter disbelief that we are actually about to have a baby. I don't even know if having him in our arms will make it feel real because I imagine the thought will go from 'I can't believe we're having a baby' to 'I can't believe he is ours.' I am feeling super thankful for Brian as he is just the best. He has been able to come to every single doctor's appointment which I think is so special for him to experience all this too since so much is focused on the woman through pregnancy. I couldn't do this without him. I mean literally, it is not possible without him {Har Har!} He is my everything and Baby K is so unbelievably lucky to be getting Bri as his Daddy! I hope my hubby knows just how much I appreciate him because we have been so busy and I know he has to be feeling the pressure to get stuff done around the house. It is important to stop and take in all that we have accomplished. I hope that everyone finds their person like I've found my hubby. I could not imagine doing life without him. I am so excited to create amazing memories in this new chapter of our life. I love you, hubby! The thoughts of a 38 week pregnant and hormonal woman ;)
So once again, I'm a bit late on my bumpdate seeing as it is practically Tuesday when I am posting this and I will be 39 weeks on Wednesday. Here's hoping I can get my online courses done so I can catch up on some blogging. I love to capture all these memories. Even week to week, it is hard for me to remember some of the details.
Happy Monday Y'all!
