When I found out that The Great Gatsby was being made into a movie I decided it was finally time to read the book I never read in high school. I feel like I'm getting old because I appreciate things I never did before like classic literature, the news, history, other grown up things {lol}.
I don't know about you but if a movie is inspired by a book then I have to read the book first before seeing the movie. I learned my lesson with Marley & Me. I started reading the book when my Mom asked me to go see the movie with her. I have never picked up the book again. So, I bought Gatsby on my iPad thinking I'd read it on the honeymoon. That never happened. I am a total book worm but these days I really only find time to read before I go to bed. And reading makes me tired so I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes in a night. This means it takes me FOR-EV-ER to read a book. I probably read this book in about a month, month and a half. I used to read books in a weekend. Now I have to fit it in between working, Husband time, fam & friend time, blogging, crafting, etc.
Have you read The Great Gatsby? I really liked it. I'm not a book reviewer so I won't pretend to be {lol}. I would recommend you read it though.

I had a super fun girls night last night with two friends from my master's program. We went to The Cheesecake Factory on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale. It's always nice to talk to friends in my field of work because we deal with heavy sh*t {I'm a community mental health therapist FYI}. Today we slept in & laid in bed till about 10:30. B surprised me with some fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast this morning. I wrote 18 more wedding thank you's. B & I got a late lunch. Then, we saw Olympus Has Fallen which was really good, super suspenseful. B & I highly recommend it! Tomorrow is Waffle Sunday {YAY} and my "niece's" birthday party which will be great to get together with our friends.
Weekends are the best, aren't they?!!!
Oh, I would also love to hear your suggestions for a good book to read. I always appreciate good recommendations.

I CANNOT wait to see The Great Gatsby! I have been counting down for 2 years since I found out it was in production because A.) I absolutely LOVE the director, Baz Luhrman. He is ah-mazing! and B.) I love Cari Mulligan and who doesn't love Leo?? But, like you, I had never read the book and I needed to before I watch the movie. I honestly didn't love it and I think Gatsby is kind of a terrible man but I have no doubt that Mr. Luhrman will make it AMAZE anyway!! :) You've got a new follower, Ashley!
