Yay!!! It's the weekend!
Friday night, we had an impromptu date night with a gift card we had for Bonefish Grill. I got a Pineapple Martini and it was ah-mazing! We really like their appetizers and from time to time we do apps for dinner. We got the Bang Bang Shrimp, Ahi Tuna Sashimi and Mussels Josephine. I specify what we got so that you will know just what to get when you go because we have gotten all of these several times. And we know good food! Trust me, I'm a foodie! ;)
Saturday morning, I went to the greenmarket to get some of my staples like really delicious pasta. Roasted Garlic Fettuccine and Mushroom Fettuccine are two of our favorites. I picked up a smoked fish dip which was a great decision because it has been tasty. We've been eating it as an appetizer on Ritz crackers for days now. I love greenmarkets because you never know what you may find.

Saturday night, we had dinner with my mother-in-law at Carmine's Coal Fired Pizza We got an arugula and prosciutto pizza which we quickly devoured. I am not even kidding you, people were literally coming up to our table to check out our pizza. It was great and I highly recommend the pizza.
Sunday, we planned to meet my mom at Park Ave BBQ for lunch. I should preface this with the fact that I get my punctuality from my mama. ;) My mom was running a little behind schedule as she was out collecting seashells at the beach. Again, I get my shell obsession from my mama. To pass the time, my awesome husband took me to a new grocery store that recently opened, The Fresh Market. I know, be jealous of our exciting life. Grocery store touring, that's how we roll! LOL ;) Seriously though, do you have a Fresh Market? It is a foodie's paradise. And if you didn't think I was a big enough dork to want to go walk around a grocery store, we told my mom about it and she asked me to go back with her so she could check it out. Yep, two trips...one day...smh {I recently learned this means shaking my head. This is the first time I typed that and probably the last! I'm not 20 anymore, I cannot be typing like the kids do. Have I mentioned I think I have ADD? I am all over the place!} ANYHOW! We got some seriously delish BBQ. Here's a tip: You should always get your pulled pork sandwich Carolina Style {with coleslaw on top} and switch out that regular bun for yummy Texas Toast. That's right, don't hold the carbs and skip the bun...get the garlic bread instead!
I am starting to think I should rename this blog Kozell Foodie because clearly my life revolves around what I eat.
Sunday night, you guessed it....we went to dinner at Too Bizaare with my father-in-law, his girlfriend, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. This is probably our second favorite restaurant with Food Shack being our number one pick. We always get the Goat Cheese Marinara appetizer. The sushi is amazing and they have literally anything you could be craving from savory crepes, duck pizza, osso buco, salads and so much more.
{Obsessed with our dogs. Clearly this picture has nothing to do with our food filled weekend but Bella is just too cute for words!}
Monday morning, we had breakfast with my father-in-law, his girlfriend and my brother-in-law at our favorite breakfast sandwich place, Maplewood Bagel Market. I love their croissants which you can get plain or with "everything" toppings just like the bagel with lox and scallion cream cheese. B always gets an onion bagel with bacon, egg and cheese....ya know, in case you ever want to bring us breakfast ;)
{Like everyday, this weekend we threw Lo's ball...clearly, she was happy about that!}
Monday being Memorial Day, we had off of work. We mainly relaxed. No beach, pools or BBQs for us but really, it is nice to just hang out on the couch. Somehow, we are always busy and going. I was really happy that we were able to see my mom, B's mom and dad along with our other family members. I am way overdue for a phone chat with my dad. I wish he and my OR family lived closer. I miss not being able to hang out just because it is the weekend. I intended on typing this up earlier this week but of course, this short work week got away from me. As I have said before, it is important to me to capture the special moments as well as the day to day life moments.
I hope y'all have a great weekend! I am hoping to go to the greenmarket tomorrow as it is the last one of the season. Not sure what they are planning for the summer months but really it is too hot to have outdoors unless you go really early. I am also hoping to make a trip down to the new Trader Joe's that opened. It is not super close to me but it is in my county so I will take it seeing as I was ready to drive to Miami for it. :)
Happy Weekend Y'all!!
It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I love Bonefish & that Pineapple Martini sounds amazing... I must try :)
