Happy Love Day

Happy Valentine's Y'all!!!
I hope everyone had a great love day yesterday, whether it was spent with your spouse, significant other, friends or your pet {hehe}. Everyone deserves some lovin'! February has just been flying by. If you follow along with this little blog of mine then you know that I made a Valentine's Day Advent Calendar for my sweet husband. You can see more about it here. Along with chocolate, I included a love note each day. I think Hubby really enjoyed this advent calendar. Of course, I could have just conditioned him to enjoy it by including Dark Mint Chocolates, Dark Sea Salt Caramel Chocolates and White Chocolates. LOL Here is a picture of the notes I created. I took inspiration from sayings I have seen on Pinterest while others are completely unique to us including two with parts of our wedding vows and our sayings to each other. I really enjoyed this advent calendar. This is the first year I did a V-day themed advent. I think this will be a tradition. If you keep up with me on here then you know how much I LOVE a good tradition!
I was looking back at past Valentine's Days and I just have to laugh. We were very unconventional some years with our gifts, including this year. Like 2012, when I asked for silicone pot holder {in my fave color of course} and an Anthropologie apron. I love it, I feel like I am getting dressed up when I put it on ;) Or 2013, when I asked for a gallon of paint and bought my new Hubby white truffle mayo and beef jerky chocolate. Some might call us me weird, I prefer unique! Let's take a walk down memory lane...

2007 - Our First Valentine's Day
Bri gave me a Tiffany bead bracelet to match the necklace he gave me for Christmas and the earrings he gave me for New Year's {Hey Hubby, why have we not kept up with the New Year's Eve present??! Oh right, because we'd be broke! Ha!}. I know, he's always spoiled me and been so thoughtful! I think he was happy to have me in the same state as him as I moved home from Oregon on December 9, 2007. For the life of me, I have NO CLUE what I got him.

2008
I honestly cannot remember what we did this year. See this is why I started this blog. I am losing memories. I know that I got him a card even though I only took a picture of his card to me. I think this is the year that B was going to school to become an EMT. He had class on Valentine's so we went to dinner on the 13th with my best friend, Dawn and her boyfriend at the time, Matt {now husband} who was also in EMT school. If I am right, we went to the River House for a super yummy meal.

2009
Bri gave me a Tiffany necklace that said I love you in script. I gave him an iPhone but since he is the tech person in our relationship, I waited for him to buy it. So what do you do when you have no phone to give, draw it of course! We met our friends, Eric and Lauren for dinner at Jetty's. I remember it being a really fun night.

2011 - Our Last Dating Valentine's Day {Not that I knew that at the time lol}
Years ago, like many, Bri and I called each other love bug as one of our many pet names. Love bug eventually turned into just bug...ya know, because apparently we couldn't just drop the bug and keep the love! LOL Which I do also refer to Bri as My Love or Lovey. Are you gagging yet? ;) Anyway, rather than saying I love you all the time, we evolved into our own phrase "Tubs my bug"...again, we are unique not weird! I can't remember if I shared that story on here. Essentially, one day I said "I tubs you" and it stuck. Hubby's wedding band is engraved with TUBS MY BUG 12.1.12. On another note, I have no idea what I was thinking with this outfit! Ha! I think what happened is that my $15 Target dress {that I just adored!} shrunk and rather than letting it go, I decided I could wear it with leggings. Not a good idea.

 2012 - Our Engaged Valentine's Day
My FiancĂ© gave me an Anthropologie apron I had been eyeing for months and silicone pot holders in my favorite color. I made dinner and chocolate dipped strawberries! Again, besides cooking dinner, I have no idea what Bri received from me!

2013 - Our First Married Valentine's Day
I think the longer Hubby and I have been together, the funnier our gifts have gotten. This one hit an all time high with me asking for a gallon of paint so I could paint the accent wall in our bedroom. Bri hates painting, especially since we rent. He'd rather wait till we buy a house but I am obsessed with color and paint. Our townhouse drives me nuts with our 20 ft white walls. Cringe. If I had known we would be living here as long as we have, I probably would have made some paint changes along the way. May will be 5 years we've been in our place. We are so ready for a house. Okay, back on topic. I know that men are more difficult than women to buy for but really, my husband takes it to a whole new level. He wants nothing. Apparently, I have enough wanting for the both of us. ;) One thing he does like is beef jerky so I happened to find beef jerky chocolate and thought, why not! To be honest, I don't even remember what it tasted like but we must not have been that impressed because we never got it again. What I do remember is that the White Truffle Mayo tasted like Miracle Whip which I do not like. Hubs did not like it either. And we threw that $6 jar away...what a waste. Funny enough, I found it on Harney & Sons Tea website. They have speciality spreads, jars, etc. It made me laugh as I bought my fave brand of tea and mayo all in the same order. Who knew?!

2014 - Our 2nd Married Valentine's Day
This year I asked for picture frames so I can get some prints done from our honeymoon to hang up. I gave B 2 monogrammed Tervis Tumblers so that he no longer has to enjoy his Jack & Gingers in my Lilly Pulitzer stemless wine glasses. Hahaha I will miss that image though. More on yesterday's love day tomorrow hopefully. I have not been doing as good as I would like to be doing at blogging but I could be doing worse so GO ME!! LOL

For some reason, I cannot find V-day pictures from 2010. Strange. I will update this if I find any pictures. I would be shocked if I didn't take any pictures. It is sweet to look back at all the V-days we have celebrated. So much has happened. Our friends that I mentioned above got married and now both couples each have two kids.  Obvs, B & I got married too. ;) I wonder how many amazing things will happen over the next 8 V-days...

I hope you are having a great LOVE weekend!
AMK
