Happy February, Y'all!
Wasn't it just New Year's Day like, last week? I feel like the last month has just flown by. January was jam-packed with friends and family. I visited my best friend, Ashley and I got to see her new place. I went to my dear friend, Britt's bridal shower and my best friend, Dawn had her second baby as well as an unexpected position change at the company I work for. My Aunt Karen and Uncle Morris came to visit which was so fun because we hadn't seen them since the wedding. Busy, busy, busy. I am looking forward to a lot more fun and busy-ness in February.
My Aunt Di is coming in town this week so I am looking forward to spending time with her, my mom and Brian this coming weekend. The weekend after that is Valentine's Day and it happens to fall on food truck Friday so that will be pretty delish! The weekend after that is Britt and Michael's wedding down south so we are going to make a little weekend out of it which should be a lot of fun. Then next thing you know it will be March aka Hubby's birthday month along with like 6 other family and friend birthdays. I don't think this year is slowing down any time soon.
I have slowly been decorating for Valentine's and I thought I would share what I have done so far.
We have a 20 ft ceiling in our living room and since we are renting we decided {almost 5 years ago now} that we would not paint the big walls. It is like a giant sea of white. I hate it. I really, really do but it is what it is. A while back I painted 3 canvas I had left over from an art class. I took some left over scrapbook paper in pink and silver glitter and cut out hearts. I hand drew them so they aren't the same size or shape but that just makes it more fun. I used washi tape to stick the hearts to the canvas.
How cute is my little model?!
I repurposed the Christmas advent calendar for Valentine's Day!! I am so excited about this. I loved using it at Christmas time so why not count down...every. single. holiday. So fun!
Here's a glimpse at what I put together. I bought a few of our favorite chocolate flavors and I wrote 14
"love notes", one for each day. I say "love notes" like that because they are not necessarily conventional. Some are silly, some are inside jokes, some are lovey, etc. I can't say much more because then it would ruin the surprise for my sweet husband who always reads my posts.
Here is the first one. My Hubby and I love Oreos so when I saw this saying I knew it was perfect to include in the V-day count down. Of course, now we are both craving Oreos and don't have any in the house. But we do have Thin Mints! Yay!
One last shot of our littlest love looking up at the loft at her daddy.
How are you decorating for Valentine's Day? We always put up a wreath and some festive kitchen towels. All I have left is to decorate our chalkboard!
AMK
How cute & adorable :)
