HAPPY SATURDAY-ish, FRIENDS!!
I can't believe I haven't blogged in like 3 weeks! Where does the time go?
It is funny because if you asked me I would say I am a boring homebody but really we have been busier than ever. Since the last time I blogged, we attended a friends wedding in Fort Lauderdale and enjoyed free VIP tickets to The Honda Classic golf tournament as well as I have had a ton of food dates with great friends! I met up with friends from my old work program last Saturday at The Cheesecake Factory. Then my best friend, Ashley came in town on Wednesday night and we ate with some of her family at this amazing restaurant, Too Bizaare. Thursday, I met one of my dear friends from grad school, Celeste for dinner in Boca Raton. Today, the Hubs and I had a belated birthday lunch with my former stepmom, Lauren at our absolutely favorite restaurant, Food Shack. AND tonight we were at my sister-in-law's parents house to celebrate her upcoming birthday! I swear I either have nothing going on or I am go-go-go all the time! I feel like 2014 has been nonstop. In the middle of all the fun, I was able to find some time to make another festive wreath. My goal is to make a wreath for every holiday. I wonder what my President's Day wreath will look like {kidding...sorta!} Love me some festive holidays. Hubby & I both have some Irish in us so it is fun to play up our heritage. {Read: More of an excuse to decorate!}
Gasp! Gold has official entered our decor. While this may seem like a small detail in most gold loving households, I have not worn or decorated with the color gold in like 10 years. I don't know why, I wore gold jewelry in high school but then I was just over it. So it is actually a big deal in the Kozell household that I am now decorating with gold, bought a gold belt and a necklace with gold details. This is major! Okay, maybe not but sometimes it is fun to be a little dramatic. LOL
You can't really tell but I feel like we have a tall front door. It must be at least 8 feet tall so our standard wreath holder is too short. I took the picture below standing on a chair. Short girl problems.
I could not get my phone to take a very accurate picture of the colors as the above photos look very muted to me. The phone below is much more accurate and it is with a filter on it from Instagram. The yarn is called Kelly Green. The paint used for the K is Martha Stewart in Gold {easy enough to remember ;) } I purchased everything at Michael's craft store. I love Martha Stewart paints!
A photo from the Kozell's our way to lunch today. We were celebrating my former stepmom, Lauren's birthday at our favorite spot. The food was beyond amazing today. I got pulled jerk BBQ pork and tempura shrimp with a homemade slaw, Hubs got a special called French Quarter Risotto with crawfish, mushrooms and sausage among other things and Lauren got a steak salad with homemade BBQ chips which were unreal. I could be fat and happy eating at Food Shack 7 days a week ;) If you are ever in the Jupiter area, you MUST eat there. I have mentioned it before but they catered our rehearsal dinner. I joke that the one of the reasons Brian proposed to me was that I promised him I would incorporate our favorite restaurant into the festivities. Truth.
Have you been crafting anything lately? St. Patty's themed or not, I'd love to hear about it! I am planning on making another yarn garland. I would love to make some felt shamrock cut outs too but I don't know if I will have the time or money for it this year. I am already thinking of Easter too! I love decorating for the holidays.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hubs and I are currently lounging on the couch watching The Americans drinking beer {for the Mrs.} and a Jack & Ginger {for the Mr.} I am currently out of my Estancia Pinot Noir...sigh.
AMK
