Happy almost weekend, y'all!!
I don't know about you but I'm exhausted. I didn't realize getting back into the swing of studying would be so tiring. I'm definitely feeling mentally exhausted these days between work and studying. I want to keep up with my blog even if it isn't as inspiring and exciting as I envision my blog to be. The creative Ashley will return in September...as long as I pass my exam. LOL However, my intention is to document our life - exciting or boring, happy or stressful! So here's a random compilation of my life lately :)
Last weekend, while I studied most of the day away, Brian went rock climbing with some of his family. Conveniently, there was an event going on in my neighborhood so I walked over and got a delish pesto goat cheese & eggplant sandwich from a truck called Miami Press. I do try to soak up the convenience of living in the middle of the action because hopefully not too long from now we'll be buying a home. We're looking in more rural areas with room for Lola to run her little heart out and where we don't hear our neighbors conversations. LOL I'm sure I'll be complaining about being far away from things at some point in the future but after more than 6 years of living in a commercially residential area, we're over it.
The rough life our dogs lead...the sweet part is that I took these pictures while I was studying. I've been studying in our 2nd bedroom with the door closed {to drown out the noise of Husband "saving the world from zombies" ;) LOL} Every night they come in and keep me company.
My awesome MIL picked up this beautiful vintage Ball jar lamp for me - so sweet...now to find a shade!
I cannot believe that Bri and I's one year wedding anniversary is 129 days away. August 1st will be 8 months already. It's amazing how fast time can fly sometimes. We still haven't even gone through all our wedding pictures. It's amazing to me how we planned for almost a year and a half, everything focused on this one day and then it's over quicker than you can snap your fingers and life just keeps right on going. No slowing down! Married life has been amazing and wonderful and to be honest, not really different than unmarried life. LOL Just the way I was hoping it would be, no big adjustment which just confirms what we've been saying for years...we've been living like a married couple for a long time. However, it is really nice to be Ashley Kozell and Brian's wife. We over use calling each other husband and wife and I love it! So far the only major difference I can come up with is that when we go out to Oregon for my brother's wedding, we get to sleep in the same room. Gasp, even the same bed! Life doesn't get anymore exciting! ;)
Speaking of time flying...my licensing exam is officially ONE MONTH away. Kind of makes my stomach turn. I am really trying to think positively about it but it's just really scary that there is a big chance I won't pass the first time. They recommend you study for like 3-4 months, 1-2 hours a day during the week and 4-7 hours on the weekends. Well, I signed up with 2 1/2 months to study and I try my hardest to study 7 days a week but it doesn't always happen. Eek! {deep breath!}
To add to all the craziness we call life, I just started the process of transitioning from Outpatient Therapist to Psychosocial Rehab Therapist at the same company. I'm super happy to be staying with my company but getting a change of scenery. It'll be a big change too. I'll be working with all adults rather than mostly children and a few adults. I'll be in the office rather than driving all over the place/chasing clients. I'll be doing group and individual therapy which I was not doing groups before. I'm super excited/nervous/happy for this change. Of course, it came at a really stressful time with studying for the exam and doing a different job with different ways of doing certain things. They consider it more of a lateral move but I consider it a promotion because when I'm fully transitioned I will have a salary plus hourly rate rather than just being hourly. We really need that peace of mind and stability to buy a house. I'm basically doing part time outpatient and part time PSR until sometime in September. It's been a little crazy because this transition position does not exist so we're all just making it up as we go along. It's been interesting so far and it's only just beginning. Today {Friday} is my first full day on the new job. Wish me luck! ;)
Until next time...
AMK
