Gender: BOY!!!!!!!! More on that another day.
Baby size: HE is the size of an onion and the weight of a turnip. LOL
Total weight gain/loss: 4 pounds! I actually had to laugh at myself this week when I weighed myself the other day. I got so excited that I went up a pound. Never have I ever jumped for joy to see my weight increase! LOL I have been stuck at 3 lb weight gain for weeks and I started getting concerned that I wasn't gaining weight. I have a feeling I will be singing a different tune as the holidays set in. I mean, pumpkin pie and ginger cream cookies are the things little boys are made of, right?!
Maternity clothes: Not yet but my awesome bestie, Dawn gave me a bunch of her maternity stuff so I will be prepared when the time comes! I have still been using the hair tie trick to wear my jeans comfortably although I am noticing I have to start unzipping my pants when driving in the car or sitting at home. I need it to get cooler out so I can start wearing leggings out in public LOL Maxi dresses are my friends for sure too!
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Mostly good although I notice my shoulders sometime get sore from laying on my sides.
Best moment this week: This is going to sound funny but seeing Baby Boy Kozell's "boy parts" as our ultrasound tech so nicely labeled it on one of our pictures LOL It was nice to visually confirm his gender as we actually got the Panorama genetic blood test done which tests for Down Syndrome and a couple other chromosomal issues. If you are not aware, this blood test also tells you the gender. We were able to find out at 14 ½ weeks that we were having a boy! It has not sunk in yet. It is very surreal to say "he." And of course, there is a pretty funny story about how we found out coming soon.
Miss anything: Only everything you are not supposed to eat while pregnant.
Movement: I thought so on two occasions but I haven't felt anything since then so maybe it was just hunger LOL He was moving and grooving at last Friday's appointment which was SO COOL to see.
Food cravings: Cereal, ice cream sandwiches, peaches & candy corn this week!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully, no.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, but I'm not sure if someone who didn't know I was pregnant would think I was pregnant and not just pudgy LOL I think it also depends on what I wear. Also, the bump is definitely smaller in the morning and bigger at night.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Happy
Looking forward to: Our 18 weeks anatomy scan where they will measure and check baby boy out more closely as well as just getting to watch him move around and hear his heartbeat again. I am actually considered a high risk pregnancy due to a surgery I had last November. Because of that procedure, I have to have my cervix monitored every two weeks starting at 16 weeks and going through 28 weeks to make sure it does not shorten which could lead to preterm labor. I am happy to report {mainly for my own future record during pregnancy} that my cervix measured 3.8 inches long and it doesn't become a problem unless in shortens below 2.5 inches. Well, that's enough talk about my lady bits for today!
Happy 17 weeks {+2 days} Baby BOY!!!
